CAMPAGNE DE FINANCEMENT 2025
Madam/Sir,
The SRDMH, founded in 1977 and registered as a non-profit organization in 1979, is primarily dedicated to the research, preservation, and promotion of Haitian classical music, a unique and often overlooked musical heritage. The SRDMH also focuses on other Haitian musical styles.
The valorization of this heritage also involves transmitting it to current and future generations through in-depth musicological research, concerts, conferences, and educational programs.
Haitian classical music, rich in African, European, and Caribbean influences, reflects a vibrant history and culture. This underrepresented cultural treasure is at risk of disappearing in the face of the political, economic, and social challenges facing the cultural sector.
To address these issues, we have developed several projects that include:
-
Research and Documentation: Collection of musical works, support for composers and musicians, music publishing, and digital archiving.
-
Dissemination and Outreach: Organization of concerts and development of partnerships on the national and international stage.
-
Education and Awareness: Organization of workshops, seminars, and educational exhibitions.
To carry out these projects, the SRDMH needs an annual funding of fifteen thousand dollars (CAD 15,000) which will be allocated to the following projects:
-
Concert production
-
Audiovisual recording of concerts and streaming
-
Digitization of archives
-
Acquisition/subscription of music editing software
-
Website maintenance
-
Promotional events
-
Mailing costs
-
Legal consultation on copyright and contract signing
The members of the board of directors and the various committees are all volunteers and sometimes benefactors.
Your financial support in the form of membership fees or donations would help cover these essential costs and significantly contribute to preserving this precious musical heritage.
By supporting the SRDMH, you are not only contributing to the valorization of a unique culture but also to the development of an artistic platform that brings communities together.
On behalf of the board of directors, I sincerely thank you for your attention to this request and for your support.
